o Is the letter she wrote from Paris ironic?

Which of the following statements do you agree with? Discuss:

- Mrs. Foster’s decision at the front door is one you can understand and sympathize with.
- Mr. Foster deserves what he got.
- Mrs. Foster should have separated from her husband long ago.
- She just murdered him.
- She deservers to live happily in France with her daughter and grandchildren
- It was just an unfortunate accident and Mrs Foster knew how to take advantage of it.

  1. The debate about the next short story has already started so i'll be brief:
Mr. Foster is not very considered with his wife and he’s not unhappy about his club staying: ‘'I'll move into the club tonight. It'll be a nice change staying at the club.'’

The glue that is supposed to unite two people is in this case, as in many others like Lili said in her comment, not love but fear and submission.
Even when Mr. Foster got me on my nerves, I don’t sympathize with Mrs. Foster decision cause I think there are many - and not that extreme - ways of face the situation, like… I don’t know… for example, a note saying “Dear, I’ve decided to go to France. You have food on the fridge. Love. Mrs. F”.
But I understand it, she did what everyone does in daily little doses (answer back, express dislike, get angry and be able to say it) but all together, years and years of suppressed responses out in that act, caused by what was the last straw.

I find the letter very ironic, because I don’t think she could have let her husband there and go to the airport if she would have known that she was going to see him again.
